There is a simple reason why most people are not able to lose weight and if they are able to lose weight, why they quickly pack the weight back on. The reason is simply because these people have not developed a 'Weight-Loss Mindset'.
Having a 'Weight-Loss Mindset' simply means that the person is motivated or has a dire drive to take whatever measures are necessary for them to get and keep the results they want to achieve. You see, the motivation that's needed to maintain your goals must come from within. It can't come from a friend or even a mentor. You have to believe in yourself in order to obtain lasting results.
Going deeper into what motivation is... it's having a burning desire to do whatever it takes to keep that excess weight and fat off your body. It's the difference between someone who hits the snooze button a few times before getting up in the morning and someone who jumps out of bed as soon as their alarm goes off and heads for the running track each day.
For some, it takes a life-changing moment in their lives before they get the drive they need to develop a 'Weight-Loss Mindset'. It can be a serious illness you've experienced that is dependent upon having better health in order for you to heal, or the breakdown of a marriage or it can even be an incident that happens to a loved one. Any of these situations can cause a person to make up their minds and incur the drastic changes necessary to reach their ideal weight.
Unfortunately, those who have developed a strong 'Weight-Loss Mindset' are very few. The reason is because as humans we are resistant creatures. Even though we know the right thing to do, we are more than willing to put up with a lot of problems before we take the initiative to make a change. Therefore, it's only you who can muster enough courage to develop a strong mind-set that will allow you to exceed your body goals.
